I have finally taken some time to analyze several hot EV SPACs, I wanted to focus on FIII, GIK, NGA, ACTC and XL Fleet this time since those 5 are kind of similar. That’s why I left out Canoo, Arrival and Lucid. I am not a financial advisor and do your own research before investing. I have read many reports which have brought me money and I just wanted to return something to the community. Feel free to disagree and share your thoughts. Big wall of text ahead, you have been warned!
So let’s begin:
FIII/ Electric last mile First one on the menu is FIII, merging with Electric Last which is basically a new US entity formed by a Chinese company called Sokon founded in 2020. Sokon is apparently big in China where they have sold 30k electric vans on Asian market so they just want to do a copy paste and do the same in US. Sokon is in the US market since 2016. through owning a EV company called Seres.
The good - They have
100k capacity Indiana powerplant (kept 430 employees) which was acquired by Seres previously, IMO this is big and provides a great platform to deliver good numbers
- Previous experience in building vans in China, all they have to do is copy paste
- They claim to have 30k signed preorders
The bad - No product has been delivered yet, 0 revenue so far, US entity founded just prior the deal, final purchase of the preorders are contingent upon satisfaction of customer requirement
- Only one Minivan offering planned in near future
The shady - Sokon is not new to the US markets and their older company Seres (since 2016) has absolutely awful reviews on Glassdoor,
only 16% of employees approve of the CEO, Seres had big plans to deliver SUVs to the market but those plans have been unsuccessful so far, I know Seres is not ELS but it tells about their company culture
Conclusion: If they make it happen they could be big, my biggest concern is that they have been very unsuccessful with their previous venture, IMO the reason they decided to form a new entity and not to merge through already existing Seres company is because they knew people would find bad reviews and they wanted to rebrand themselves. However, if their company culture in the USA had big problems and employees who are in general extremely unhappy with management, what would make it different this time? What I have to add is that their CEO will be a previous Workhorse CEO and he might create a different working environment.
Short term swing: yes, I can see it getting to 17/18 mostly because nobody is going to dig deep enough to see their previous failures. However, I prefer to pass it and to invest my money in others.
Long term hold: definitely sell before merger if you are in, buy again if their plant starts actually delivering good vans, I am very skeptical of their business. I would bet against their projections considering everything I found out from their Seres employees.
GIK/Lightning eMotors Here we have a market leader in Class 3-7 vehicles electrification, they are already having 120 vehicles on the road. They are offering commercial ZEVs (both battery and fuel cells) and Charging solutions.
The Good - 1500 already ordered vehicles from key customers, 20 new customers and 10 repeat orders which means they are doing quality work
- Tons of strategic partnerships in place,
Already received purchase orders to fulfill 100% of 2020E and 2021E revenue - Electric repower will be the way to go for a lot of businesses, eg. If you already have a Bus fleet, would you go to Proterra, order one and wait for two years or would you pay 50% less to GIK and electrify your bus in 6 months?
- Insanely low starting valuation at 0.6b
The Bad - Out of all EV spacs they got only 225 mil from GIK and PIPE which isn’t much and might influence their expansion potential
Conclusion: I love GIK, they are legit, they have vehicles on the road, customers are happy, they have scheduled orders until the end of the year. Big question is how they are going to be successful in scaling the business. Current share price of 14.3$ gives the company valuation of 1.1b which is a steal. I am in it, I expect it to run up to 20$, depending on the run I will decide how much I will sell, might hold some after merger.
ACTC/Proterra We waited and waited and this was one of the craziest market reactions, I believe the price went to 18 in 30 minutes, however is it worth the hype?
Proterra claims to have 50%+ electric bus market share and has already delivered 1000+ vehicles which makes it very legit. They serve powertrains, buses and charging solutions. Also, in comparison to FIII deal here 86% of employees approve of the CEO
The good - Already delivered 1k vehicles with the
biggest revenue of all EV Spacs sitting at 193mm in 2020. (FIII has 0, GIK 9, XL 21, NGA 29)
- $750MM+ of Orders and Backlog
- Close ties to Biden, might make big government deals easy
- 278mm from ACTC + 415mm from PIPE (be aware of the post merger dump) gives them the most funds to make it happen
The Bad - IMO them being only focused on Buses slows growth potential, they aren’t active in any other EV category and do not plan to be, this can also be good in a way they will not try to do to many things at once which is a risk for some other companies
- Their competition is actually quite big, several employees have pointed out in their reviews that it will not be an easy market in future at all
The Shady - Their Investor presentation (while being the most beautiful one) screams insecurity when they talk about competition which is a big red flag for me. They compared themselves with Arrival, Nikola, Romeo and even Canoo?! Its like comparing apples to oranges. Why haven’t they mentioned Lion Electric which also has proven products on the road? No mention of BYD or NFI-New Flyer Industries comparisons which also has EV buses. EG. NYC bought both Proterra and NFI buses but decided to buy again only from NFI. I am no expert but if they are claiming to have the best buses they shouldn’t be afraid to mention competition and how they are better. I have found their buses are supposed to have better specs than BYD but no data on NFI.
EDIT: Few thought from
u/kvncls who thinks I had a too negative outlook and didnt agree with some of my points, I find his insight valuable:
- Most of their profits in the next 5 years are NOT coming from selling buses. Their main thing is providing EV powertrains and batteries to other commercial OEMs, primarily Daimler. Plus, they’re not only building buses. They’re building trucks. They’re building batteries. They’re building fully-realized powertrains. They’re building EV charging stations for fleets of buses/trucks.
- They also have a major investor in Daimler, who also happens to be their biggest customer. Daimler’s got $50B in revenue in 2020 and ~520k vehicles sold. How is this not mentioned at all? Proterra is building out batteries and EV powertrains for them at a scale HYLN could only dream of. -Arrival, Nikola, Romeo, and Canoo are ALL competitors. Why? Because they all have products related to Proterra. • Arrival builds transit buses/trucks. 0 revenue. All promises. • Nikola builds Class-8 trucks. 0 revenue. All promises • Romeo builds batteries. 11M revenue. They have product. • Canoo builds buses/vans/trucks. 0 revenue. All promises. • You missed this, but they also compared their selves to Hyliion which has 0 revenue, all promises. • You missed this, but they also compared their selves to Chargepoint. Why? Because Proterra builds EV charging stations for fleets of buses/trucks. Proterra literally does all of those things and has bigger revenues than all of them combined.
My response: What I mean when I said they are only focused on Buses (I agree i should have explained it better, English is not my native language) is that they are only building buses (while others are involved in building their own trucks/vans, Proterra is providing powertrains to OEMs), I meant that if they had their own van/truck their growth potential would be bigger. Regarding their competitors: they literally put a slide saying “Other mobility Technology Players: PowerPoint and Prototypes” - this is not true, they have competitors thar have real products and revenue but they decided to put the companies they can easily bash. Why arent Lion, BYD or NFI group there? Those are real companies with real products and revenue. Those companise should be listed on page 13 and 14 and not Canoo. You list Cannoo, Nikola and Arrival if you want to look better and hide your real competitors. Thats what I meant when I said they didn't mention their true competitors (only Lion a bit later). I do agree that Daimler partnership is a big one, someone also mentioned it here. I will edit my post to add your thoughts, thanks for participating. End of EDIT.
Conclusion: At current share price of 23$ the company is valued at 5.5 billion. NFI Group is the largest bus manufacturer in USA with annual revenue of 2.9 billion; they have currently around 300 EV buses on the road but plan to have way more. NFI group is being valued at 1.9 billion. Make of that what you want. I am no EV bus expert to make good conclusions who has the best ones. Am I in Prottera? Oh yes I am and I will buy more warrants, market loves Proterra, nobody is going to think about their competition and challenges short term; once Biden says EV Buses on inauguration it will shoot up. Will I hold through merger? No.
XL FLeet XL Fleet the market leader in fleet electrification solutions, with proven, proprietary technology and electrification systems and solutions that work across a wide range of vehicle classes and types, they have already 3000 vehicles on the road.
The good - Over 200 fleet customers with
3,000+ systems deployed, 130+ million customer driven miles
- Already having established production (6k per year capacity) they can scale to 100,000+ units annually
-
Big demand from business who have good fleets where is makes no financial sense to buy new EV vehicles The Bad - No EV solution yet only hybrid, expected in to have one in 2023, being two years behind their competition if a big minus
In general, XL Fleet is sitting at 2.8b valuation which I do consider a buy at 22$. We have also that Citron report with the PT of 60$ which is a bit too much IMO but I can see them growing their business with their hybrid offer and after that who knows, it all depends on their EV solution. I am not in it just because I believe there are better plays currently.
NGA/Lion Electric I left this one for the end and IMO this is the best company to invest in. They are focused on medium and heavy duty EVs, they have 300 vehicles on the road and their Quebec facility can produce 2500 vehicles per year. On the wings of Amazon I believe they will be big.
The Good - 100% built in the house vehicles, 7 vehicles already available today, 4 trucks, 3 buses
-
Amazon partnership – 2500 vehicles on schedule + option to buy 20% of the company - Opening high volume production facility in the USA, CEO said it will be producing 20k vehicles per year, announcement could be any day soon
The Bad - Only negative I can see that it has already gone up a lot, also 300 vehicles on the road after 12 years aren’t that much, having in mind their production facility with 2.5k vehicles potential
Conclusion: So many great things here, proven products, partnership with the best company to have as a partner – Amazon, new factory and a legit CEO to lead this. Think about Nikola – no product, just a truck prototype - its trading at 7.7 billlion. Lion Electric - even at the price of 31$ is valued at 4.9 billion. I can see it doubling until the end of the year. Even though we had the Amazon and Cramer pump there is still the new factory announcement and probably Biden talk which will be a big push for all EV.
///
My personal strategy: I am already in GIK, ACTC and NGA, I will skip FIII and XL Fleet for now. I am buying more GIK warrants today, I believe that play has the best value right now short term. I will buy more ACTC warrants hoping for a pullback. Merger date might be far away which might cause the stock to bleed but I do want to have a stronger position before the Biden speech. NGA has run up a lot and we will probably have profit taking soon, might be smart to wait a bit. If you are thinking long term then get NGA warrants even with today’s prices. Warrants are 12.5$ which means you value the company at just 3.2b. IMO warrants in all three SPACs are a better buy than commons.
I believe we will have a big EV boost post Biden inauguration. He wants to go EV with all the buses, first ones will be School Buses which will be great for Proterra and Lion, the demand is so big there is enough for everyone.

Welcome to The Gateway City. You're probably reading this because you are relocating to Laredo for work. Moving somewhere new can always be a chaotic experience, but I hope this extensive guide on all aspects of Laredo living will help make your time in Laredo as memorable as mine was. Grab a Dos XX with Tajin or a Margarita and enjoy. A bit about myself: I lived in Laredo from early 2016 - to late 2017 after I graduated from college for work. I periodically go back to visit friends since I live in Houston now. I didn't make a ton of money when I was there for my flying job, but I still had the time of my life. Please keep in mind these are my opinions and thoughts from my time there. I had a blast being there in my early 20's, but I know priorities and interests change as people age, however, I've tried to be objective when writing this guide for everyone.
Mods please please feel free to pin this post to help others out down the road.
Overall thoughts: The best way I can describe Laredo is that it's like you took a trip to Mexico, but you get to keep all the cool benefits of being in the United States. It's kind of the best of both worlds, and I found both the people and culture of Laredo to be great. There is nothing like grinding at work during the week just to make it to hang out at the pool day drinking with your friends doing Carne's (short for Carneasada aka cookouts), going out, and the afters (after parties) on the weekends. Oh, I forget to mention the food is AWESOME. Also worth noting, anyone that is not Latino in Laredo is a minority which is kind of a cool experience in itself.
The Weather: Take a look at your weather app for Laredo right now, if it's winter you'll notice that it's probably in the 50-70 degree range. In very rare circumstances it has snowed in Laredo, but being from the Midwest I found the winters are super mild. Summer on the other hand is a whole other animal, expect hot temps in the low 100's especially in mid to late summer. In reality, there is Summer and Fall in Laredo. Fortunately, it is a normally dry heat. It can get slightly humid though if the winds are out of the East from the Gulf, but it depends on the day. It's usually sunny a majority of the time though which is cool. Your summer wardrobe will be in use 9-10 months of the year.
Where to live: Like anything this depends on your budget, however, Laredo is a very affordable city when it comes to renting and buying. I lived off Bob Bullock Loop and 359 (Southside). Like anything, economically driven rent in the city fluctuates but is extremely affordable compared to almost any other city. I paid 1000/mo for a nicer 2 bed 2 bath. Around town, a nice one bed runs in the 600-850/mo range and 2/2 runs in the 1100-1200/mo area at the nicer complexes.
My roommate and I lived where we did because we flew out of the airport so it was a quick drive for us, but if I had to do it again, I would have probably lived in a bit more of a "busier" part of town in the McPherson and Delmar area or on the north side since we found ourselves driving there when we'd go out most of the time. This area is also considered to be some of the more "higher end" part of town with nicer houses and stuff.
apartments.com has been my go-to source the past 6 times I've moved, give it a look if you are shopping around.
I
highly recommend picking a place with a pool and/or a grill if you're remotely interested in that sort of thing. Due to Laredo's climate the pool and grilling out are a way of life. It's also a great place to meet people.
Getting Around: Having a vehicle is the most practical answer for Laredo, however, Uber and Lyft markets have popped up in the last few years. The bus system for the city is called El Metro. Laredo is pretty easy to get around, the only major highway is 35 which starts at the river (the Rio Grande crossing downtown) and goes to points North like SA, Austin, and Dallas. Bob Bullock Loop orbits the city to the East.
**
Important Notes About Driving in Laredo*\*: Uninsured motorists are abundant meaning expect some sort of increase in your car insurance. I thought I knew how to drive until I came to Laredo. People drive fast, yellow lights mean speed up, and red lights/stop signs are optional. For some reason, drunk driving is also a very abundant thing, especially in the evenings/late night hours. I'm hoping this issue has improved since I lived there since Uber and Lyft are now a thing. Either way, stay alert, be a defensive driver, and you'll be fine.
What to do: Many locals cite "things to do" while living in Laredo to be the toughest category to fill. Bottom line, it's a small town, however, there is something for everyone in town!
Bars:
Going out is the big thing to do in town most weekends as drinking is considered one of the biggest activities. I loved it, but I also know it's not for everyone. However, there are a wide variety of bars to pick from each having a different vibe. I've listed some of my favorites below. A lot of bars/restaurants have a DJ or band after a certain time. Bars are spread out across the city, but cluster in the McPherson/DelmaJacaman (pronounced Haca-man) area and now downtown. Bars close at 2 AM but people love to party till the sun comes up so after-parties at people’s houses are common.
- Vibe (Hip Hop spot with Vegas type vibes)
- Culture
- Cosmos (BaRestaurant with DJ)
- Average Joe’s(AJ's) DJs and bands, divey vibes but always a good time.
- Blue Moon Country Bar, was formerly another country bar, but still good spot when I visited last.
- TKO - Good to catch games and DJ Ba Restaurant on Sundays and Thursdays
- Planeta 80 - 80's bar
- Santo Remedio - Solid spot for cumbia type bands and stuff. I always had a blast here.
- Golondrina Food Park (food trucks and stuff)
- The Happy Hour Downtown - Kind of divey, but really good vibes.
- Laredo Rooftop Lounge
- Tabernilla
Restaurants:
So many good ones that can range from cheap to expensive, but the food is good at all of them! Here is my list of local spots, but Yelp is usually a good place to check for updated options.
- Border Foundry
- Trattoria Mia
- Sushi Madre
- Scratch Sandwich Kitchen
- Obregon's
- Tacos Kissi
- Palenque Grill
- El Capataz
- 550 Pizzaria (Best Pizza in town IMO)
- Rudy’s or Ringos for BBQ
- Taco Palenque is also an amazing "fast food" style Mexican restaurant I miss very much. SOlid place to hit after the bars for grub.
- Any taco stand is good, the sketchier the better.
- Los Pinguinos snacks for a cool Mexican style snack/dessert. Seriously, you got to check these out.
- Whataburger - A true Texas staple
- Laredo also has all the other brick and mortar places like Buffalo Wild Wings, Tilted Kilt, Cheddars, Papa Johns, Dennys, Olive Garden, etc.
Activities:
- Hanging out at the pool with your friends and getting some sun
- Farmers Market every 3rd Saturday held at the Veterans Memorial Jarvis Plaza from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
- Carnes! aka Cookouts are a blast and these people in Laredo are GRILL GURUS. Amazing meat.
- Ice Skating (Winter only) and concerts at Sames Auto Arena. They bring in all sorts of entertainment from a wide variety of genres. They used to have a hockey team and there have been rumors of one returning.
- Baseball games at Uni-Trade: Cheap tickets, cheap beefood, good baseball, nice stadium, and sit wherever you want!
- TAMIU Planetarium is a cool and cheap thing to go check out. It’s on the campus of Texas AM International University (TAMIU) and a nice way to cool off in the summer.
- If you're into the Arts Laredo has a pretty cool little Art community that can be found downtown
- If you’re into fishing, the Rio Grande or Lake Falcon is pretty cool and you can wave at the people in Mexico fishing on the other side. Some of the best Bass fishing in the country is down here due to the year-round warm water temps.
- On the contrary, if you like to hunt, plenty of hunt opportunities in the area. Do some research on hunting leases and ranches if this interests you as it is all protected and private land.
- Walk around downtown, a lot of history and cool places to see.
- Lake Casa Blanka State Park
- Iturbide St. bars in general
- WBCA in February
- The gun range (Get the full Texan experience and exercise your second amendment right!)
- If you get the opportunity to go to a ranch, GO! It's a cool Texas thing that not many people get to do.
- If you want to get away for the weekend I recommend San Antonio/Austin, Hill Country, Corpus Christi, or South Padre Island. All places are within a 4-hour drive.
- Allegiant runs to Vegas two days a week, makes for a great weekend trip
- If you are into volunteering there are plenty of opportunities to do so around town.
https://www.facebook.com/365thingslaredo Is a great group to follow to get daily updates on things going on around Laredo.
Where to shop: This one is a big no brainer for me personally, but HEB, the big Texas grocery chain, is the move. They have great selections (especially their meat and produce) and pretty good prices. If you want to save a bit more, Fiesta or Walmart is your only other big options that are worth a look. Laredo also has any major brick and mortar retail store Best Buy etc and a Mall with all the normal Mall stores. The outlet mall on the river is a super cool spot to I recommend doing some retail therapy at.
Where to Workout/Active Stuff: There are all sorts of gyms between cross fit, yoga, Orange Theory, and your brick and mortar gyms (Crunch, Anytime, Golds, etc.) If you're into outdoorsy trail stuff North Central Park has a nice set of trails and Lake Casablanca State Park on the East side has some pretty good trails for the area also. If golfing is your thing there are a couple of golf courses, Casablanca Golf Course is your run of the mill Par 3 and the Laredo Country Club is the nice golf course in town. I know Laredo also has some rec sports adult leagues if you're into that like Flag football and stuff, Google should be able to help you find out more about those.
Safety and Crossing the border: Laredo like any mid-size city has its share of crime, however, there is a very large presence of Local and State Police, DEA, FBI, and Border Patrol in the city due to its proximity to Mexico. Like any major city, lock your doors and take out any valuables in your car. The few homeless people stick to the I-35 corridor mostly. Lock your doors and windows and you'll be fine. There are sketchier parts of town the further south you go, but I never had issues as many of these people are often very humble and respectful people.
Cartels:
I remember watching the Border Wars show before I moved and thinking "Oh shit, what did I sign up for?" Cartels are simply a reality of life especially on the border, but they also exist in any major city around the world, they just happen to be a bit more prevalent in their activities at the border. They exist and have a hand in many things both in Nuevo Laredo and Laredo (businesses, politics, etc.). Like anywhere keep a street smart head, vigilant attitude, and don't hang out with the wrong types of people and you will be fine in Laredo. LADIES, please carry some sort of protection with you like mace and stay in groups when out, especially when downtown.
Crossing:
I'll start with this disclaimer that I'm a 6' white guy, so I don't blend in that well. However, I dated a girl I met at a bar who lived across in Nuevo Laredo for 10 months so I got my full share of the crossing experiences. I'm witting this during COVID times so things are a bit different atm. The crossing is an experience I could and probably should do a thread about on its own, but I'll summarize what I can here.
There are two ways to cross: 1. Driving or 2. Taking the footbridge both located downtown. I walked every time because my GF at the time would pick me up on the other side, but a word of caution. If you drive understand that having non-expired US plates and a nice car makes you a target for robbings and other non-fun stuff. I recommend getting a bank such as Charles Schwab with zero international ATM fee's and that gives you a 1:1 exchange rate when pulling out cash from an ATM, however, the border exchange places near the bridges work in a pinch. Cash is king there. If you do cross you need to at least have a remote working knowledge of the Spanish language or be with someone who does, it's amazing how different life can be across a 20-foot body of water.
I often heard stories where people crossed to go to places like Jose Frog's and other bars and shops every weekend in the ‘80s, but times have unfortunately changed since. There were relatively calm periods and today there are periods of literal war in the streets. Please ask one of the many locals that commute to Laredo daily for work if they think it is safe to cross for that day since it is truly a dynamic environment. If you work in any sort of government or law enforcement line of work, DO NOT CROSS.
If you do want to cross, understand that I recommend the following:
- It should only be done during the daylight hours
- Stick to the main streets and crowded areas
- Preferably go in a group if you can
- I highly recommend checking out their town square, street taco stands, main street shops, and my favorite restaurant "El Rancho".
- Only carry the amount of cash you are willing to lose
- Place your passport and some safety money you’d need to get back across the bridge somewhere safe. Those are your ticket home!
- Most cell plans include calling and texting in MX now, keep an eye on your data plan though. My phone would randomly switch to MX cell towers at times when I was close to the river so I turned off my roaming data.
- Be respectful, American's are often seen as arrogant people, let's destroy the stereotype!
- Know where you are going, use Google Maps or something.
- Make sure someone knows when and where you are going.
- Keep your head on a swivel and check your six periodically. You WILL be looked at by people, especially if you are not Latino. If you are being followed get to a uniformed official or if you are near the bridge go back. Use caution though as the Cartel has been known to have fake uniformed officials, albeit rare, remember that you really can't trust anyone there.
- Remember you are in a foreign country, you play by their rules.
Looking back I was pretty reckless at times when I went across because I was with my GF, her brothers, or her family most of the time so I felt relatively safe. Please live through my experiences if you are dying to push the envelope with crossing. If you're considering a visit to "La Zona", don't. It's cool, but you can get the same experience in Vegas without the fear of being kidnapped or killed. Going out over there is super cheap, but the bars all pay a "toll" to the cartels weekly to operate. It's not out of the ordinary for Federales/Cartel to come through a packed bar with AR-15's or the cartel to kick everyone out if the business didn't pay that week. We got stopped by the cartel a few times asking why I was visiting so much. They watch the bridges 24/7, they know the second you step on their turf, and they know what you do and who you do it with. Remember that you can also easily get mixed up with the wrong people on the Laredo side of the river which is equally as dangerous. Know who your friends are!
Closing tips: -Laredo is what you make it, if you do nothing and sit around it’s going to suck so make the best of it.
-I wish my Spanish was a bit better before I moved there. It comes in handy A TON as Spanish is the preferred language and a majority of folks speak it. Knowing it will make your life easier.
- Get one of those windshield sun shades for your car, they are a necessity in the hot weather
- Gentlemen. If your single don’t be creepy, go talk to that girl and ask her to dance! Latin culture is very cool, open, confident, and fun.
- Embrace the culture and enjoy it
- Go to a Quinceañera and a traditional Mexican wedding
- Learn how to Line Dance and Cumbia!
submitted by Author's note I'm sorry this took me so long to post. Online classes took up my time and greatly affected my creativeness when I started writing this. I had many periods of writer's block last month due to being brain drained. But finally, here it is. I hope you all enjoy this one. Part 1 Part 2 Lucas' Resolve Classroom She tried her best to remove it from her mind but, no matter how hard she tried, she still couldn’t forget that incident yesterday. The sight of that boy's swollen and red balls still haunted her memories. The more she remembered their image, the scarier they appeared in her head.
"Krystal!... Krystal Chang!!" a voice yelled, which startled her.
"Y-yes, sir?!"
"I asked you what this is named," he said while pointing his ruler at a diagram on the chalkboard.
Krystal looked at the board and recognized it to be a Venn diagram. She stood up to answer, but after staring at the two circles on the board again, it started to resemble a particular male body part. Suddenly she felt lightheaded, and the next thing she remembered was seeing total darkness.
Nurse's Office Krystal then found herself waking up on a bed in the Nurse's office. Across the room from her, she saw the red-haired school nurse, sitting by her desk.
“Ms. Gentles?” Krystal asked.
"Oh, you’re finally awake? How are you feeling, sweetie?" Ms. Gentles asked as she turned to face Krystal.
"A bit droggy.” Krystal rubbed her head. ”Um, how did I get here?"
"Your teacher carried you here after you fainted in his class. Have you been eating properly and getting enough sleep?"
“I believe so.”
“Hmm, Ok.”
Ms. Gentles then took out a stethoscope from her desk. “I’m just going to do a quick check on your heartbeat. Can you slightly pull your sweater down a bit?” she asked as she approached Krystal.
Krystal did so, a bit embarrassed as her pink bra and cleavage came into view. She flinched as the cold diaphragm of the stethoscope touched on her skin.
“Well, your heartbeat seems normal,” Ms. Gentles said as she removed the stethoscope. “Maybe you fainted from a heat stroke, perhaps? You do look a bit hot under all that.”
There was a good reason why Ms. Gentles wondered that because, along with Krystal’s standard school uniform, she also had on a light beige long-sleeved sweater and black see-through tights. She wore sweaters because she has always been insecure about her upper body, mostly due to her slightly larger than average breasts.
“No, I think I may have fainted from something else. I remember looking at the chalkboard, and then I saw something terrifying, and shortly after, I passed out,” Krystal said. Then she suddenly became visibly ill and blurted out, “Balls! I saw balls!"
"Balls caused you to faint? Could it be that you have Sfairesphobia?” Ms. Gentles asked. “So, what was it? Did someone bring some sports balls into the classroom?”
"No, no, not sports balls. By balls, I meant the ones boys have between their legs," Krystal said but soon blushed once she realized how ridiculous it sounded.
"Do you mean testicles?"
Krystal nodded. "Mhmm."
Ms. Gentles stifled a laugh, which caused Krystal to blush even more.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, but... It’s the first I’ve heard something like that." Ms. Gentles covered her mouth as she laughed. After regaining her composure, she cleared her throat. “Alright, alright, I’m done now.”
“So what should I do?” Krystal asked.
“You can try to desensitize yourself. If you're exposed to your fear long enough, gradually, you’ll feel less anxious whenever you see “
balls” again,” Ms. Gentles said, using air quotes as she said the word balls. “It's a tried and true method used in therapy."
"You mean I have to go around and ask boys to show me their balls?!" Krystal asked with a trace of panic in her voice.
"Well, that's if you want to, but there are books or the Internet you could use, you know."
"Oh yeah," Krystal said, embarrassed yet again.
"Speaking of, there should be a large red book labeled "FTB" you can find in the biology section of the library. You can’t miss it."
"FTB? Alright, I’ll give it a look.” Krystal got off the bed. “Oh, and thank you for taking care of me, Ms. Gentles."
"No problem, sweetie. All the best now."
Luckily, Krystal had been lying in the Nurse's office for a while because when she’d left, it was already lunch period. So, there was plenty of time for her to go to the library.
Library Being a frequent visitor at the library, she was able to easily navigate her way through it. In quick time, she’d already located the FTB book, one shelf above her.
She reached for it but suddenly, a random hand grabbed the next book beside it. Since she had been so focused on scanning the shelves, she failed to notice the boy beside her. He also seemed not to have spotted her as well, judging from his sudden exclamation, "Found it!"
Krystal looked at the boy and immediately recognized him as the most popular boy in school, well, at least among the girls. She would sometimes see him walking around school with a group of girls following him or hear her classmates idolize him, though she never fully understood why, other than he was handsome and athletic.
"You're... Lucas?" she asked.
He looked at her, finally noticing her presence, and immediately turned pale.
"W-what the? This book isn't about sports. Who placed this here?" He said while quickly placing it back on the shelf. He then faced her and asked, "Uh, have we met before?"
"No, but-"
*THUD!*
The book he had so hastily shoved in its slot had fallen to the ground with its cover facing up. Its title read, "Grow some balls! The best guide for your low hangers!"
An awkward silence filled the air as the two looked down on the book. Krystal finally crouched to pick it up while Lucas slowly tried to back away.
"You're... trying to grow your balls?" she asked him.
"No-nonono, I said that was the wrong book, remember? The one I’m looking for is about sports and stuff, which I’m gonna go search for now. So cya."
"Wait!” she said before he could walk off. “I get how you feel. I also know what it's like to feel self-conscious about a part of your body. So, don’t worry, I won't tell anyone. Here."
She handed the book over to him. He hesitated but eventually took it from her.
"You won't?" he asked.
"I promise," she said as she grabbed the FTB book from off the shelf.
"Free the balls? You’re interested in that book?" he asked.
“Ooh, so that’s what it stands for. I wouldn’t say I’m particularly interested, but I do need it for a certain issue of mine.”
“Oh, I see… wait, earlier you said you were also self-conscious about a part of your body… and you just said you have a certain issue…,” Lucas said as he looked at the book in her hand and then slowly to her crotch. “Are you Trans?!”
“What? No! What made you think that?!”
“It’s just that you and your issue… plus the FTB book… so I just figured-”
“No, you've got it all wrong. I need this because I have a -”
She stopped herself. "Never mind, it's stupid,” she continued.
"Well, you kinda know mine so, it’s only fair that I know yours."
“I… suppose you’re right, but… you’ll probably laugh at me.”
“I don’t think I’m in any position to be laughing at anyone,” Lucas said.
Krystal then leaned her back against the bookshelf and sighed. "I... have a fear of balls, "
low-hangers" to be exact. This book is supposed to help with desensitizing my phobia."
"Oh... well, it’s odd but, I wouldn't laugh at something like that," he said, also leaning his back against the bookshelf.
"Thanks. The school nurse, on the other hand, found it hilarious. She even jokingly suggested I go around and ask boys to show me their balls to help desensitize me."
"What? That's ridiculous."
"I know, right! Although it might be easier than reading through this entire thing. Like seriously, how much is there to possibly learn about balls?" Krystal said as she held the FTB book up.
“
Loads, apparently.”
They both shared a laugh until it slowly went back to silence. Lucas then broke the silence and asked, "So... do you think it might work?"
"Hm, you mean looking at the real thing? Possibly? But it's not like I could go around and do that now, can I?"
"Yeah, true..."
Lucas then looked down at the book in his hand and noticed something written on it. He then turned to Krystal and said, “Maybe we could help each other."
"What do you mean?"
"I want bigger balls, and you want to get over that fear, right? What if I show you my balls, and you help me increase their size?"
Krystal was naturally taken aback by his suggestion. "What?! Do you even hear yourself? You're talking crazy! Besides, how am I supposed to help your balls grow!?"
"Well, I'm not sure how but look right here. It says,
A second helper is required to complete all steps successfully," he said while pointing at the bottom left of the “Grow some balls” book.
"B-but... won't it be embarrassing for you?"
"Of course it will, but I don't think I can ask anyone else to help me with this. You’re the first and only person who knows about my balls being small, so it has to be you."
"But we just met. You don't even know my name."
"Then tell me,” he said as he grabbed her shoulders.
"Wait... just hang on for a sec!” she yelled as she pushed him back. “You’re coming on too sudden, and I think you’re taking my phobia lightly. Did you even consider if I was ok with seeing your balls?”
Lucas then realized what he was saying and calmly back off. “Sorry. I don’t know what came over me. I’m never this pushy. I guess being so desperate, I kinda just started spouting nonsense.”
“Mhmm,” she said, feeling a bit awkward which, was evident because of the way she grabbed her elbow across her body tightly.
“Just forget I’d ever said anything. I’ll find another way to deal with my problems while you deal with yours. I suppose this is useless to me now,” he said as he returned his book on the shelf. “Hope you manage to beat your phobia. Good luck.”
She just silently watched as he walked off, feeling a bit sorry for him. She looked at the “Free the balls” book in her hand and bit her lower lip.
"Krystal,” she said.
“Hmm?”
“My name's Krystal… and I want to see your balls. So please show me."
Lucas said nothing as he was in disbelief that she’d agree with his suggestion. He turned around and asked her, “Are you sure?"
She nodded. "I know a private spot where we can go."
Library - Secluded Spot They were now in an area located at the very end of the library. It was a narrow passageway with bookshelves on both sides and the end of it, meaning it had only one entry.
"The Math section, huh? Good idea. No one will ever come over here,” Lucas said. "Ok, let's do this then."
He unbuckled his belt and dropped his pants. He then reached into the front opening of his boxer-briefs and pulled out his balls.
Upon seeing a pair for the second time in her whole life, Krystal reacted with a yelp and stumbled backward as she covered her face with her hands.
"Are you okay?" Lucas asked, fearing he had triggered her phobia. He immediately bent down to pull his pants back up.
"No, wait." Krystal slowly parted her fingers to take a peek. "I was just caught by off-guard, but... yours aren’t as gross-looking as I thought they'd be."
She then remembered that boy's balls she saw and compared them to Lucas'. It was like comparing eggs to plums.
"I don’t know if it’s because of their small size, but… they look sorta cute, in a weird way," she said as she leaned in a little closer to get a better look. She suddenly realized her poor choice of words as she saw his scrotum tightened. “Sorry, I didn’t… I wasn’t trying to-”
"Ahem. So, the book?” Lucas asked, changing the topic.
"Y- yeah, one sec." She opened the book. "It says we should first measure them before we start anything. It's so we can compare the results afterward."
"I already know their sizes, so, next step." He motioned his hand, signaling her to skip ahead.
"Next, it says we must pick a guide to follow. Beginner, intermediate, or advance.”
“Advanced would be quicker, right? So let’s do that.”
Krystal flipped several pages ahead. "Alright, the Advance guide says to complete these three steps weekly.
Step 1: Warm your testicles in a source of heat for a total of 2 minutes."
"What the heck? The first step is to roast my nuts in a fire?!" He asked, immediately clutching his
nuts instinctively.
"No, I'm sure by a source of heat; it's something like a heated room or a warm surface or something."
"Oh, that makes more sense.” He sighed in relief as he wiped the sweat from his brow. “… But finding a heated room in this school will be difficult. Almost everywhere has an AC unit, and a heated surface probably won’t warm them up good.”
Krystal folded her arms, and Lucas scratched his head as they both started to think of other options.
"We could use steam,” Krystal said. “There are electrical hot plates in the science lab that we could use to boil water. Just you hang your balls over the raising steam."
"Good idea. But, a few problems though, the hot plates are secured to the desks, so we can’t just borrow one, and people are probably occupying the lab right now."
"I think it's usually empty after school. We can use it then," she said.
"Really? Great then. Let's leave that step for later. What's step 2?"
Krystal started reading again. "Uhh... this can't be right."
"What's it say now?"
"Minor Trauma. Cause light trauma…” Krystal turned the book to show him the page. “…by giving ten kicks to both testicles. You don't have to do this if you don't want to. We could just try the heat method only," she said to him once she saw him turn pale.
"No… I can handle it.” He clenched his fists and spread his legs apart. “Do it. Kick my balls.”
Krystal was stunned, but not because of how his balls swung invitingly in front of her, but mostly by his determination. For him to be so willing to even take kicks to his most vulnerable area made her realize that once he’d set his mind on achieving something, he’s not one to give up easily. It kinda made her respect him a bit.
She eyed his balls and went into a kicking stance. But before she began, she asked, "Are you 100% sure you want me to do this?"
"Yeah, give me your best shot,” he said as he closed his eyes.
“Ok, here it comes.”
*WHAM!*
“That’s one," Krystal said.
Her shoe landed dead center of his balls, nailing them both perfectly. Lucas immediately went on tippy-toes, and his face contorted into many expressions of agony. While letting out a barely constrained scream, which increased in pitch over time, his hands went to cradle his nuts. But instead of feeling the soft, squishy texture of his balls, he ended up cradling the hard underside of Krystal's shoe, which was still pinning his balls to his pelvis.
Krystal had to quickly lean in and cover his mouth. "Shhh. You have to be quiet, or else you'll alert the librarian. Does it hurt that bad?"
Lucas vigorously nodded his head as a single tear ran from his tightly closed eye.
Krystal pitied him. To have such a weak spot between one's legs must be awful. Seeing his reaction made her grateful she wasn't born male. After a minute or two, he was able to recover and went into position again.
"Ok, ok…” he said with short breaths. “I’m ready again, but this time could you please take off your shoe and sock?"
She does so, not sure how it'll make any difference, but she had no right to question what he believed would be better for him and his balls.
*WHOMP!*
Right on target again, but this time his eyes were open to witness the moment his balls compressed and bulged on each side of her foot. He felt like collapsing then and there.
"Two!" she said as she removed her foot. His scrotum stayed glued to her foot until it reached maximum elasticity and snapped back into its usual shape.
"Are you ok? That one looked pretty painful," she asked him.
"Don't... stop," he squeaked.
And with that, she continued her assault.
*WHAM!*
"3!"
*WHOMP!*
"4!"
*THUMP!*
"5!"
*WHACK!*
"6!"
*THUD!*
"7!"
*CRUNCH!*
"8!"
"Stop! Stop! Time out!" Lucas yelled, still being careful not to be too loud.
“How the heck is this “
minor trauma”?” he mumbled as he hunched over to catch his violently swinging testicles, which were throbbing immensely, and cradled them. Krystal just rubbed his back in a vain attempt to soothe his suffering. After a couple of minutes, he finally stood up straight again and went back into position. Krystal admired his tenacity and also went back to her kicking stance.
"Um, what number were we?" she asked.
"I think you were at seven now?" he said.
"Was I?"
"Yeah... I think. Ah, Screw it. Just start at eight. I'll count this time."
"Ok." She then swung her foot.
*THWACK!*
"Eiiiightttah!" he squealed.
*WHUNK!*
"Niiiiiinnneah!"
*KRUNCH!*
"Teeeeennn!!"
"Whoops, I think I only got the left one that time," she said as she saw her foot was only pinning his left nut to his thigh while his right nut dangled unharmed.
"I'll just hit the right one only this time," she said before swinging her leg again.
*SCRUNCH!*
Unfortunately, (for Lucas) she'd accidentally struck his left nut again.
"Oops, sorry," she apologized, quickly pulling her foot back.
Lucas only groaned in pain as he used his left hand to hide his left testicle against his pelvis. Still, with his left hand, he used his finger and thumb to bulge his right testicle outward more.
"Here… you can’t miss now," he squeaked.
She aimed again and finally kicked his right testicle as hard as she could. Lucas tilted his head back as visible veins popped up on his neck.
"One more to make it even," Krystal said before kicking forward again.
*SCRUNCH!*
The kick was so strong that Lucas completely lost his grip on his left ball, allowing it to swing and slap the underside of her foot, which was still pinning his right ball. He immediately fell to the ground into fetal as he clutched his balls in exclusive boy-agony.
"C-congrats, Lucas, you did it! You're a real man!" she said, trying to make him feel better.
But it instead did the opposite as her use of the word
man only reminded him of his
maleness. The organs which classified him as male was currently the source of his suffering.
After 10 minutes, Lucas crawled over to sit up against the bookshelf, still holding his groin. "I feel like I'm gonna hurl."
"Are you?" Krystal asked with concern.
"Nah. One good thing about being an athlete is that we know how to hold in our barfs,” Lucas said as he tried to catch his breath. “So, what's the last step?"
Krystal turned the book’s page. "Hmm, let’s see… step three is... oh… oh no."
"What? Why did you say “oh no”?"
"You're not gonna like it. Step three is Major Trauma by compression," she said, showing him the page.
Lucas widened his eyes, and he clutched his balls tightly, which reminded him once more of their pathetic size. It gave him the extra resolve he needed to do the next step. So he took a deep breath and calmly asked, "What's the recommendation?"
"It says to keep them compressed for at least 15 seconds. The second helper can use their hands or feet, but for the best results, use a heavy object or device."
"You decide what you think is best, Krystal. My mind’s too out of it right now to even choose."
Krystal thought about using her hands as she figured it would be the least painful option for Lucas, but she also wanted him to get the best result possible. After all, thanks to him for allowing her to see and kick his balls, her fear of them decreased. She was able to “
beat” her fear, literally. So, she had to repay him properly for that.
So, she searched along the bookshelves and took out the two most large hardcover math textbooks she could find. She then crouched down in front of Lucas and hoisted his balls up while she slid a book under them.
Lucas looked at her and asked, "What are you gonna do?"
She looked him in the eyes and gently petted his balls. "You might wanna close your eyes for this."
A worried look came across his face, but he followed her orders, completely trusting in what she was planning to do. She stood up and held the second textbook high above her head until it was directly in line with the other one beneath his balls. She released her fingers, and a loud *THUD!* echoed throughout the library. Krystal could've sworn she also heard a sickening crunch too.
"What was that?!" a voice yelled. Krystal recognized the voice belonging to the old librarian lady.
She looked behind her to the end of the path and panicked as she saw a shadow approaching around the corner of the bookshelves. Lucas, who was now on the verge of screaming his lungs out as his legs spasmed, would've surely alerted the librarian on what they were doing. So, Krystal had to think quickly.
The librarian turned the corner. "You there, what are you doing?" she yelled.
At the very end of the passageway, the librarian saw Krystal crouched down with her back facing her.
"Sorry, I accidentally dropped this book," Krystal said, holding up the "Grow some Balls!" book in her right hand.
The librarian adjusted her glasses and glared for what seemed like forever to Krystal. "Alright, just be more careful with the books. They’re more expensive than your tuition fee."
"I will," Krystal said, still crouched with her back facing the librarian.
The librarian left, and Krystal breathed a sigh of relief. Only until she had heard Lucas' muffled screams was when she remembered his predicament.
She was not crouching actually but instead was sitting on the textbooks between his legs. She had used her entire body to block him from the librarian's view, and she had her legs spread over his thighs to pin his legs down from spasming.
She also knew that the librarian was old and had trouble seeing, so she hoped that the librarian’s poor eyesight would make it difficult for her to see the unhidden parts of Lucas. As for keeping him from screaming, she had to bury his face into her breasts with her left hand. It was a risky plan, but it worked in the end. As Lucas remained screaming in her chest, she rubbed the back of his head. "Shshshshsh, I know, I know. It hurts. Just let it all out," she whispered to try and comfort him as if he was a baby.
Once his scream died down, she released her bear hug. "Just 15 more seconds, and it's over," she said to him. Lucas, with his teeth gritted and eyes closed, just nodded.
She then started counting to 15, bouncing her ass atop the textbooks each time to add a little bit more pressure. Each time she jolted her ass, Lucas would moan (in pain). The whole situation was getting rather erotic, with his moaning and them being in such a compromising position with her legs widely spread apart. If his eyes were open, he would’ve had a clear view of her pink panties behind her see-through tights.
To her, it was as if she was having sex with the most popular boy in school. Around the count of 4, her body started heating up, and she felt a tingly sensation in the pit of her stomach. Then at the count of 7, she wrapped her arms around his neck. And finally, by count 9, she started moaning along with him, except hers wasn’t due to pain. She long passed the count of 15, but she was too immersed in the new sensation she was experiencing. She continued bouncing harder, flattening his balls more and more.
Lucas, with his shaking hands, reached out to try and grab her shoulders in an attempt to tell her to get off, but due to being drained of energy, he was only able to grab hold of her breasts, which were rather sensitive at the moment. She arched her back in response and moaned as her weight increased on his nuts.
"L-L-lift... b-book!" Lucas squeaked, which finally woke her from her ecstasy.
She immediately got off the textbook and removed it from his balls. She panicked as she saw how flattened they looked, fearing she had crushed them but was soon relieved as they slowly reshaped back to normal.
While kneeling, she smiled at Lucas and gently rubbed his balls. "That wasn't so bad, right?"
Lucas just turned around on all fours and parted the books on the shelf behind him. He then stuck his head behind the open space and puked up his breakfast.
Krystal only cringed in sympathy. "Ugh, so much for athletes being able to hold in their barfs.”
As she took the textbooks to place them back on their shelves, she noticed, on the cover of one of them, was a Venn diagram that had the imprint of Lucas' balls on it. One
Ballprint at the center of each circle. Although she knew she shouldn't, she couldn't help but chuckle a bit from it.
Science Lab Classes were over, and Krystal was waiting in the science lab, browsing through her phone. She had shared numbers with Lucas, and he had texted her to meet him there first thing once the bell rang. However, she was the only one there.
Eventually, she saw Lucas walked in. He walked a bit funny though he tried his best hide it. Krystal now knew why he arrived later than her.
"Did you find a measuring tape in here?" he asked.
"Yeah," she said, showing it to him.
"Good. Let's get this done quickly then."
He pulls his balls out from his opened zipper, not bothering to unbuckle and drop his pants.
Krystal turned on the lab's
hot plate to its highest setting and placed a
crystallizing dish/flat beaker, filled with water, on top of it. They quietly waited until steam rose from it.
"Ok, go," Krystal said.
Lucas got up on the desk and went on his knees to carefully hover his balls over the steam. Krystal kept track of the 2 minutes with her phone. He felt some pain but it was still bearable, especially compared to step 2 and 3.
After the 2 minutes were over, he scooted forward to the edge of the desk, away from the steam and beaker. He thrust his hips forward and presented his nuts to Krystal.
“Please be gentle," he said. "They're a bit tender."
She nodded and held his balls to measure them with the measuring tape. He nervously waited to hear the results. She told him their size.
A look of shock came across his face. "That's... they... they grew..."
"They... grew?" Krystal asked, still with her hand gently cupping his balls.
"They grew! Well, only for a little, but they grew nonetheless!" He said as he ecstatically grabbed her shoulders. She, too, started smiling along with him.
"If we do this every week, then they’ll surely be large by the end of the month. Thank you, Krystal. I could've never done this without you," he said as he hunched over to wrap his arms around her upper body.
"N-no problem," she said as her heart skipped a beat. His sudden embrace had brought back that same sensation she felt earlier in the library, which made her blush heavily.
After he finished hugging her, he asked her, "How can I ever repay you? I know I kinda helped with your phobia, but I feel like I owe you a lot more."
They were staring at each other's faces, him looking down and her looking up. Krystal was close enough to truly admire how handsome Lucas was. She once again found herself blinded by her lust as she got lost in his deep blue eyes. Before she knew it, she leaned in and kissed him. He was, of course, shocked by it, but being a healthy teenage boy, he didn't retaliate. Also, since he was a more experienced kisser, he took control, and their kiss became even more passionate. Her hand gripped his shirt while her other hand gripped his balls tighter.
It was only until they both needed to take in some air, did they finally stop kissing. Breathing heavily, Krystal slightly looked away because she was too embarrassed to make eye contact with Lucas. "W-wow. I'm sorry, I-I just...," she said.
Lucas cleared his throat. "I-I guess I could take you out to the movies sometime?” He asked as he blushed.
She nodded. "Mhmm!"
Suddenly the lab's front door clicked. "Who is in here?" asked a woman’s voice. It was the school's chemistry teacher.
Krystal immediately looked behind her in a panic, unintentionally tugging Lucas' balls in the process. He let out a girlish yelp as he felt the sharp pain in his gut of having his nutcords stretched. He desperately grabbed at her wrist to free his trapped balls.
Upon realizing her mistake, she immediately released his ballsack and quickly apologized. "Sorry!"
With him, pulling away from her grip and her sudden release, it caused him to fall backward. He knew the beaker, with still boiling water, was directly behind him, so he did his best maneuver his butt in time to go past it. He ended up landing his butt safely behind it, thanks to his quick, athletic reflexes.
Unfortunately, his balls weren't as lucky as they plunged right into the bubbling liquid. They had submerged so deep that they touched the very glass bottom of the beaker where it was sure to be the hottest.
As the chemistry teacher entered the room, she gasped at what she saw. "What in the world are you doing to your balls?!" she yelled.
The only response she got was of Lucas shrieking like a kettle.
